Submission Instructions for Oral Presentations and Poster Sessions
Participant should be an ENT resident in good standing or a recent graduate (not earlier than 2010) and having good knowledge of English to present the study and to join the discussions.

The submission should contain the following:

Brief CV
Letter form the chairman from the chairman of department documenting status of the applicant.
Title of presentation
Abstract (limited to 100 worlds)
Presenter(s) identifying information (name, affiliation, address, phone, fax, email)
Resume(s) – two page maximum
Manuscript not to exceed 10 pages of double spaced text, excluding references

The papers for Dubai Meeting need to be send directly to the Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology on E-mail Address ali.alidina@informa.com and another copy to me. All residents' papers need to be accompanied with CV and letter from the Chairman that he is a resident of the department, so that his paper can be considered resident day presentation and for the free travel and registration. 10 residents from Pakistan will be given free travel registration and stay and selection will be done by the meeting organizer. All papers sent to the Meddle East Academic directly there copies to be sent to me to prepare the sessions. Residents paper sent to me have no letter from the Chairman of the Department certifying that they are residents as such they will not be included in the resident day program. Kindly sent immediately.

The Gulf society has invitied Pakistan as the Guest country . This is an honour for Pakistan and we need to participate in full strenght sending our State of the Art lecture, free papers, symposium, mini seminar. The last date for submission of these is 15th December 2011.It is requested that maximum number of ENT consultants should participate and send their papers immediately to Prof. Tariq Rafi (Email and Phones present on website in Karachi Chapter of ENT Specialists ) me to be forwarded this to the Gulf Society. Dr Muaaz President of Gulf Otolaryngology society is looking for our maximum participation.

23rd Conference
The conference was held in PC Peshawar from 9-11 Dec. 2012. On the first day a workshop was held in Khyber Teaching Hospital. It was cadaveric dissection on maxillary swing approach to anterior skull base. It was conducted by Prof. Shahid Hassan from Malaysia. This approach can be used for tumours of the nasopharynx and parapharyngeal space requiring wide exposure. Prof. Shahid also performed thyroplasty on the cadaver.

The 2nd day proceedings started with state of art lectures by Prof. Shahid Hassan and Dr. Willium. These were followed by Inaugual ceremony. The chief guest was Prof. Dr. Hafeez the vice chancellor of the Khyber University. Prof. Dr. Shahiddin the chairman organizing committee welcomed the participants. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Tirmizery the general Secretary PSORL presented the annual report of PSORL 2011. The official website of PSORL was launched during this year. The year witnessed a lot of academic activities including workshops on FESS By Reda Kamel at Karachi, 3 workshops on mastoid surgery by Prof. Mujeeb and Prof. Zubair Bhutta and a FESS workshop at Azad Kashmir CMH by Lt. Col Maqbool Raza. More than one million were spent by the society for the renovation of ENT theatres and purchase of equipment in Allied hospital Faisalabad. Head office PSORL started functioning in SIMS Lahore under the supervision of Prof. Dr.Muhammad Amjad the vice president of PSORL. The chief guest appreciated the society for the academic activities being arranged despite the difficult circumstances. Prof. Farooq Mian the president PSORL appreciated the efforts of Prof. Muhammad Ali Tirmizey for launching the official website of PSORL. At the end Dr. Zakirullah the organizing secretary thanked all the audiences. The day then witnessed scientific sessions till 6. Pm. General body meeting was held after that.

The 3rd day also witnessed a no. of free papers and state of the art lectures. The conference concluded at 2.00 pm

GENERAL BODY MEETING on 10-12-2011
General body meeting was held in Peshawar on 10-12-2011 on the occasion of 23rd conference . The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Farooq Ahmad Mian the president PSORL and all the office bearers were present on the stage. The proceeding started with the recitation from Holy Quran by Dr. Salim Marfani. General Secretary PSORL Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Tirmizey read the agenda of the meeting.

The First item of the agenda was the 24th conference. It was unanimously decided that the 24th conference will be held in Karachi. The date and venue will be decided by the organizing committee. Prof . Dr. Salim Marfani was choosen the chairman and Dr. Sameer Quraishi the secretary of the organinsing committee.

The Second item was the financial report of 22nd ENT conference held at Faisalabad. It was noted that PSORL spent Rs. 1.2 million for the renovation of ENT Theatres and purchase of equipment in Allied Hospital Faisalabad from saving of the conference. It was appreciated by the members that the organizing secretary has given the financial report. Dr. Rana Nasrullah was of the view that proper audit report should be prepared. However it was a good tradition which should be followed in future.

The Third item of the agenda was head office of the psorl. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad told that the head office is working in SIMS institute of Lahore under his supervision. According to the decision of the general body meeting of the previous year 500 rupees per registration of 23rd conference will be sent to the head office for maintenance. Prof. Javed Alam the chief Editor psorl journal demanded some financial assistance to the journal but this was postponed to be discussed in the next general body meeting.

Prof. Muhammad Ali Tirmizey told that the agenda of the GBM will be displayed on the website 2 months before the meeting. Dr. Nasrullah Rana advised to take the attendance of the members attending the GBM as this was a legal requirement. Dr. Zakirullah said NTN of PSORL should be obtained for proper documentation.

Next Point in the agenda was the Website of psorl. The members appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Tirmizey to launch the website as this is the essential requirement of modern era.. Prof. Marfani was of the opinion that the website should be operated by the organizing committee of the conference. Prof. Zakirullah opined that the website should be managed by a committee having one focal person from each province. Prof. Umar Farooq said that the website should be managed by one person only, otherwise many problems will arise regarding deletion of various objects inadvertently. It was decided unanimously that the website will be operated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Tirmizey under the supervision of the head office PSORL Lahore.

Dr. Ghareeb Nawaz expressed his feelings that the Provincial chapters of the society were not working properly. There should be more autonomy of the provincial chapters.

The last agenda of the meeting was election of the office bearers. Prof. Dr. Shahiddin was elected the president PSORL and Dr. Zakirullah the general secretary unopposed. The list of other office bearers has already been displayed on the website. The office bearers took oath and Prof. Dr. Mehmood Raza Khan administered the oath.
